Geological Trail along the Kelvin Walkway with the Geological Society of Glasgow
Saturday 1 February 2025 13:00-14:30, starting at Kelvinbridge Subway Station
We have the first of two guided walks running in February, beginning with a guided Geological trail along the Kelvin walkway, led by members of the Geological Society of Glasgow. We will walk from Kelvinbridge to Dawsholm Park, following the Kelvin's fascinating world of rocks, rivers, and ancient landscapes. Come join us and learn more about Glasgow's deep history through its varying localities and industrial past.
We will be meeting at InnDeep for refreshments before the walk begins at around 12:00 Noon after our February litter pick if you're planning on attending both.

Glasgow’s Kelvin Bridges Civil Engineering Trail with the Institution of Civil Engineers
Saturday 15th February 2025 11:00AM - 12:30PM, starting at Ha'Penny Bridge House
Join this engineer guided walk exploring the bridges of Glasgow’s River Kelvin and find out how and why they were built as they are and why the West End of Glasgow looks the way it does. The walk will last approx. 90 minutes along the River Kelvin from Glasgow Botanic Gardens and explain some of the engineering behind the different bridges. You’ll learn about the social history of the area and the changing transport habits of Glaswegians. There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout the tour.
